The Stolen Go Stone

In ancient times, deep within the serene mountains, dwelled the sages who spent their time playing a game of Go, containing all the wisdom of the world. The stones they used for Go were no ordinary stones; they possessed a mysterious power that could grant great wisdom and enlightenment to those who played with them.

One day, a traveler passed through the mountain. By chance, the traveler witnessed the sages playing Go, and he was drawn to the mystical stones. He believed that possessing one of these stones would enable him to easily overcome any difficulty. Driven by greed, while the sages momentarily left the board unattended, the traveler stole one of the Go stones and fled.

However, what the traveler did not know was that the true power of the Go stone stemmed from the pure hearts and wisdom of the sages. It could only manifest its power in their tranquil world, far removed from the desires and distractions of the outside world.

The traveler traveled to many villages with the Go stone, but it brought him no help. Instead, the theft of the stone led him to lose peace of mind, and his worries and anxieties only grew.

Eventually, the traveler deeply reflected on his actions. He returned to the mountain to return the Go stone to the sages. Understanding the traveler's sincere remorse and repentance, the sages forgave him. They imparted upon him the lesson that true wisdom and happiness come from within, not from external possessions.

Descending from the mountain, the traveler vowed to live his life with the newfound mindset. He cherished the wisdom he briefly experienced through the Go stone as a lifelong lesson.
