The Wisdom of Adaptation

Long ago, in a small village, there lived a farmer who constantly worried about the weather. At first, there was too much rain, causing the crops to be flooded and the soil to be washed away, causing great distress to the villagers. The farmers complained while looking up at the sky, "Why does it keep raining like this? Our crops will all be ruined."

But as time passed, the weather changed in the opposite direction, and a drought began. This time, no rain fell at all, causing the crops to wither and die. The farmers started complaining again, saying, "This is even worse than when there was too much rain! Now we can't even give water to our crops."

But among them, there was a farmer named Hyunsoo who pondered deeply. Hyunsoo realized that there was a way to solve the problems of too much rain and continuous drought. "When there is a lot of rain, why not store the water and use it when there is a drought?"

So Hyunsoo began building a dam with the villagers. This dam served as a large reservoir to collect water when it rained a lot. Then, when a drought came, they used this water to supply the crops.

At first, building the dam wasn't easy. But as all the villagers joined forces and helped each other, it gradually took shape. As a result, when there was a lot of rain, they were able to store enough water, and even during a drought, they could supply enough water to the crops.

Now, the farmers no longer blamed the weather. They understood the fickleness of nature and learned how to prepare accordingly. The crops grew well regardless of the season, and the village regained its prosperity.

Through Hyunsoo's wisdom and effort, the villagers learned an important lesson: rather than fearing the changes of nature, it's important to accept them and prepare for them. This story demonstrates that when faced with difficulties, courage and creative solutions can lead to a better future.
